St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr.

Salvador Almagro-Moreno, Associate Member, Department of Host-Microbe Interactions. The Moreno lab investigates the emergence and evolution of bacterial pathogens and uses molecular microbiology, proteomics, and structural biology to map macromolecular organization in Vibrio species.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or structural biology.
• Strong foundation in molecular biology and proteomics.
• Experience with protein complex analysis is advantageous.
• Demonstrated scientific productivity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead studies on molecular and ecological drivers of pathogen emergence.
• Design and execute experiments; analyze large-scale proteomic data.
• Collaborate with microbiologists, structural biologists, computational modelers, and chemical biologists.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to new projects and proposals.
• Publish results and present findings to the scientific community.
