The position supports two-year research combining computational modeling, field studies, and lab experiments to understand how terrestrial species and ecosystems respond to extreme events.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in a relevant field, has a strong publication record, and experience with Python/R/Julia,

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in ecology, environmental science, meteorology, earth science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field is required.
  • Proven publication record.
  • Experience with Python, R and/or Julia.
  • Experience with ML/AI algorithms and tooling (e.g. PyTorch).
  • Experience with remote sensing and open-source GIS tools (e.g. Google Earth Engine).
  • Expertise related to climate change, terrestrial ecology, physiology, or conservation decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Join the EcoClimate lab at Rutgers University to work on modeling and field studies.
  • Contribute to computational modeling, field studies, and laboratory experiments.
  • Address climate change impacts on terrestrial species and ecosystems.
