Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Hydrology, Atmospheric Science, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, CS, GIS, Earth Science or related field.
  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills with experience in ML/DL, process-based environmental modeling, or geospatial analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or related scientific computing environments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, process-based modeling, and extreme-event science.
  • Develop and apply advanced modeling approaches to study floods, wildfires, and their impacts.
  • Contribute to model development and evaluation, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
  • Present results at scientific conferences and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
