The Moayedi lab in the Pain Research Center at New York University College of Dentistry (New York, NY) is seeking a postdoctoral research scientist to study lingual mechanotransduction and flavor sensation.

The successful candidate will work independently on orofacial behavior, histology, in vivo imaging, electrophysiology, and rodent surgery, with data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. Salary is 62,500–65,000 USD annually.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in neuroscience or related field.
• Strong laboratory and analytical skills; excellent written and oral communication.
• Experience with rodent behavior, electrophysiology, imaging, rodent surgery, and coding in Matlab, Python, or R.

Aufgaben

• Perform orofacial behavior experiments and flavor preference testing.
• Conduct histology (whole mount and sliced), immunohistochemistry, and RNAscope.
• Carry out in vivo and in vitro imaging using 2-photon and widefield microscopy.
• Perform electrophysiology, rodent husbandry, and rodent surgery.
• Design experiments, develop protocols, analyze data, and prepare manuscripts.
• Present findings at meetings and assist with grant applications.
