Job summary

The Moayedi Lab at the Pain Research Center of New York University College of Dentistry is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study lingual mechanotransduction and sensation. The role involves molecular biology, advanced microscopy, in vivo imaging, physiology, and behavior in animals and humans.

The candidate will work independently on rodent behavior experiments, histology, imaging, electrophysiology, and data analysis, with opportunities to contribute to funding applications and manuscript

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience or related field.
• Strong lab skills and communication.
• Experience with rodent behavior, electrophysiology, rodent surgery, and coding is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct rodent orofacial mechanotransduction experiments.
• Perform histology, immunohistochemistry, and RNAscope.
• Conduct in vivo and in vitro imaging of neuronal activity.
• Analyze data and present at scientific meetings.
• Prepare applications for external funding.
• Train lab members as needed.
