The Jiang Lab (PI: Dr. Jing Jiang, https://jingjiang.lab.uiowa.edu/) at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking 1-2 highly motivated postdoctoral researcher(s) (2-year term with the potential for extension) to conduct translational research at the intersection of neuroscience, electrophysiology, neuroimaging, brain stimulation, and psychiatry. Join us as we scale up our efforts to better understand how to modulate human brain circuits and promote the development of novel treatments to improve mental illness!
Responsibilities
The candidate(s) will be expected to analyze a diverse range of unique datasets for journal publications. These datasets include, but are not limited to, brain stimulation (transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), intracranial electrical stimulation (iES)) concurrent with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) or intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) datasets, and brain lesion datasets, from healthy, neuropsychiatric, and neurological populations.

The ultimate goal of postdoctoral training in the Jiang lab is to help you become an independent researcher. You will work with Dr. Jiang to develop your personalized career development plan. You will receive training and resources to publish impactful papers, gain leadership/mentoring experience, and apply for eligible research grants. You will have networking opportunities by collaborating with clinicians (neurologists, psychiatrists, and neurosurgeons) and neuroscientists both within and outside UIowa. You will also receive professional guidance for job hunts.

The Jiang Lab is an inclusive, supportive, and vibrant team with wide and active collaborations with faculty and teams from the Departments of Psychiatry, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychological and Brain Sciences within and outside the campus. We have state-of-the-art facilities, including concurrent TMS-fMRI, TMS-iEEG, iES-fMRI systems, as well as access to the world-renowned Iowa Neurological Patient Registry with neuroimaging and neuropsychological testing data from over 4,500 patients with focal brain lesions.
