Job description

Department Overview:

Within the School of Medicine and Public Health, the Glukhov Lab is part of the Cellular and Molecular Arrhythmia Research Program (CMARP), which is a multi-investigator laboratory involved in research exploring the molecular function of ion channels in cardiac physiology, pharmacology, and disease.

Anticipated Start Date: June 2025

Anticipated End Date (If Applicable):

Remote Work Eligibility: Not Remote

Hours Per Week: 8-12 hours, ideally split across 2-3 sessions (e.g., Monday to Wednesday). Suitable for students seeking hands-on research alongside their studies.

Salary Range: Minimum $10.00/hour

Qualifications:

• Current UW-Madison undergraduate student, preferably freshmen or sophomores.
• Interest in learning molecular and cell biology techniques such as RT-PCR, Western Blot, tissue staining, and data analysis.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Comfortable handling dissected animal tissues.

• Basic understanding of biological and experimental procedures.
• Ability to accurately record and organize data.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Position Duties:

• Conduct research experiments following established protocols.
• Operate, clean, and maintain research equipment and spaces.

Physical Demands:

• Repetitive motions such as pipetting and extended sitting.
• Ability to lift/move supplies up to 30 pounds.
