Job summary

The Mzoughi lab at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Researcher or Scientist to join the team. You will design and execute experiments to characterize cell state dynamics and the mechanisms driving cancer evolution, focusing on functional epigenetics and cancer evolution, working with wet and dry lab members and the PI Dr.

Mzoughi to develop strategies to reverse aberrant cell states.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., cancer biology, molecular biology, (epi)genetics, or related disciplines).
• At least one first-author publication in a reputable journal.
• Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, and western blotting.
• Preferred experience in ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and/or working with organoids, mice, and genetic barcoding.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Culture normal and cancer organoid models.
• Conduct genetic barcoding and lineage tracing experiments.
• Perform drug screens.
• Maintain and report accurate records of data.
• You will have the opportunity to be trained in bulk and single-cell genomics techniques, such as ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, and CUT&Tag.
