Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline with strong AI/ML focus.
  • Experience or strong interest in designing AI/ML for autonomous decision making.
  • Experience with hardware integration and robotic platforms is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Research integrating AI-driven design with automated materials synthesis and characterization.
  • Develop robust algorithms to control AI agents for autonomous experimentation.
  • Create autonomous workflows coordinating robots and lab instrumentation.
  • Publish results and collaborate within the PCL network.
  • Mentor graduate students and undergraduates participating in the project.
  • Collaborate with national labs and industry partners.
