Job summary

Howard University is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to engage in federally funded studies on cell-cell communication during tissue patterning using Drosophila as a model. The role focuses on Notch signaling and cel morphology, with mentorship from the PI.

This is a one-year appointment to advance new directions in the lab. The PRA will publish and present findings, train students, and collaborate across the lab and external partners.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or closely related field; ABD with plan acceptable.
• Experience with Drosophila melanogaster strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage independent research projects and publish results.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage research projects aimed at publication and presentation.
• Perform experiments in collaboration with PI and lab members.
• Seek and apply for fellowships with PI mentorship.
• Train students in routine lab techniques.
• Present work at lab meetings and conferences.
• Contribute to routine lab maintenance.
