Summary: Engage in independent and collaborative researchactivities to include designing, conducting and analyzingscientific experiments. Present results of the research along withdeveloping and maintaining knowledge of current scientificliterature.
Independentand Collaborative Research: Conducts independent researchin collaboration with Principal Investigator. Designs experiments,constructs experimental setups, builds equipment components,collects data, analyzes data, and writes manuscripts.
Presentations: Report and present researchfindings and developments.
Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain generallaboratory cleanliness and safety and oversee regulatorycompliance.
Other Duties: May instruct and train students andresearch staff in established techniques and procedures. Performother duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Physical Requirements: Ability to collect and analyze experimental data and handle animals when applicable. Must be ableto utilize applicable laboratory equipment necessary for the job, as well as a phone, computer and other office equipment.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr.Moses Oyewumi who wants to contribute meaningful work in acollaborative academic environment.
The successful candidate will engage in both independent andcollaborative research activities, including designing, conducting,and analyzing scientific experiments. Strong skills in theapplication of in-vitro cell-based and animal models in the fieldof pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences are required. Thecandidate is expected to present research findings and maintainup-to-date knowledge of current scientific literature.
Education/Degrees: Ph.D., or expected Ph.D. by time of appointment,in pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, bioengineering orrelated fields.Experience in some of the following areas isdesirable: biomaterials, advanced drug delivery systems,nanoparticles, hydrogels, stability studies, protein and peptidestherapeutics, bone fractures, cell culture, cell assays, animalmodel development, tissue collections, histology, Western blotting,ELISA, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and assessment oftherapeutic efficacy of drug delivery systems. Candidates that arewilling to learn new techniques that they are not familiar with arewelcome to apply as well.
Evidence of scientific rigor, clear scientific writing andcommunication and ability to work independently and collaborativelywill be important.
