Job summary

The New School invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility for the 2027–2028 academic year, with potential renewal. The Fellow will develop an independent research agenda, participate in seminars, and teach Law and Social Change as part of the minor in Law and Social Change.

Hybrid arrangements may be considered; the appointment begins July 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research doctorate completed by start of appointment.
• Strong research agenda relating to migration and mobility in broad terms.
• Scholarly expertise in law or legal studies demonstrated through research or teaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent research agenda and participate in ZIMM seminars and public programs.
• Teach Law and Social Change, a foundational undergraduate lecture for the minor in Law and Social Change.
• Contribute to intellectual life of the Institute and engage across The New School.
