Job summary

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow to join the Uppaluri laboratory. You will conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments, analyze patient-derived tissues, and develop ex-vivo human-immune model systems to uncover resistance mechanisms in head and neck cancer.

You will collaborate with cancer biologists, clinicians, and computational scientists, prepare reports and manuscripts, and contribute to grant applications while advancing

Qualifications

• Ph.D in molecular biology, immunology or equivalent. An immunology background is highly desired, not required. Bioinformatics experience is desired but not required
• Enthusiastic, team player and self-motivated individual
• Experience with both cell culture and mouse disease modeling. Hands-on experience in immunologic assays including flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques. Analysis of human specimens is desired but not required
• Excellent English written and oral communication
• Peer-reviewed publication track record

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing in vitro and in vivo experiments
• Processing and analysis of patient-derived tissues
• Developing ex-vivo human-immune model systems
• Conducting data analysis and interpreting results
• Maintaining accurate records, writing reports, and preparing and giving presentations
• Contributing to the overall laboratory safety, organization and productivity
• Writing and submitting impactful primary research articles for peer review
• Writing applications for funding opportunities
