The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow to join the Uppaluri laboratory. You will conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments, analyze patient-derived tissues, and develop ex-vivo human-immune model systems to uncover resistance mechanisms in head and neck cancer.
You will collaborate with cancer biologists, clinicians, and computational scientists, prepare reports and manuscripts, and contribute to grant applications while advancing
The Uppaluri lab in the Department of Medical Oncology is seeking an intelligent, creative and collegial post-doctoral research fellow to join our group. We perform pre-clinical mouse modeling and human translational work towards identifying and targeting genomic and immunologic dependencies to improve head and neck cancer patient outcomes. Our group has expertise in carcinogen induced oral cancer models and in performing first in class immune and small molecule therapeutic clinical trials.
Research areas in our lab include cancer genome discovery, CRISPR screening, investigation of tumor microenvironment and T cell biology using high-dimensional methodologies (scRNAseq, spatial proteomics/transcriptomics), development and study of novel oncogene-inducible and carcinogen-based oral cancer models and analysis of patient samples from ongoing clinical trials to define molecular correlates of response, improved therapeutic targeting strategies and new biological insights.
We are a highly collaborative group and interact closely with cancer biologists, clinicians, and computational biologists to comprehensively understand head and neck cancer related biology.
The main focus of this NIH funded postdoc position is to define mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy (antiPD1) and targeted therapy in head and neck cancers using basic and translational approaches.
