Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics, finance, risk management and insurance, actuarial science, or a closely related field (completed by the start date).
• Demonstrated research expertise in catastrophe risk management, insurance, or resilience-related areas.
• Significant data analysis and computer programming skills, e.g., Python, R.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on catastrophe risk management and insurance practices.
• Produce high-quality working papers, journal articles, and practitioner-oriented publications.
• Assist with organizing academic–industry conferences, micro-conferences, and research seminars.
• Support student engagement through supervision of research assistants and curricular enhancement.
• Participate in community and industry outreach to strengthen partnerships and disseminate findings.
• Maintain an active online presence for the Institute and its platforms.
• Teach an Introductory Risk Management and Insurance course.
