Job summary

Job Summary

The Postdoctoral Fellow will support the Institute for the Study ofCatastrophe Risk and Resilience and the Greenberg School of RiskManagement in advancing its research, education, and outreachmission. The Fellow will conduct independent and collaborativeresearch on catastrophe risk management, risk mitigation andfinancing, and insurance solutions, and contribute to theorganization of conferences and seminars. The Fellow will alsoteach one introductory course in Risk Management andInsurance.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on catastropherisk management and insurance practices.
• Produce high-quality working papers, journal articles, andpractitioner-oriented publications.
• Assist with organizing academic-industry conferences,micro-conferences, and research seminars.
• Support student engagement through supervision of researchassistants, and involvement in curricular enhancement.
• Participate in community and industry outreach efforts tostrengthen partnerships and disseminate research findings.
• Maintain an active online presence for the Institute throughcontributions to its website and digital platforms.
• Teach an Introductory Risk Management and Insurance course.

Other Duties

• Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or beassigned as needed to support the mission of the Institute, theGreenberg School, and the Tobin College of Business.

• Strong research skills in economics, finance, insurance, riskmanagement, actuarial science, or related fields.

Required Education and Experience:

• Ph.D. in economics, finance, risk management and insurance,actuarial science, or a closely related field (completed by thestart date).

• Significant data analysis and computer programing skills, e.g.,Python, R.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and appliedresearch.
• Experience organizing academic conferences, workshops, orseminars.
• Teaching or mentoring experience at the university level.
