Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University's Department of Applied Mathematics andStatistics invites applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow. Thesuccessful candidate will collaborate with Dr. Anuj Srivastava's research teamto develop and validate new statistical and mathematical models, implementalgorithms and software tools, and analyze large-scale datasets. Thepostdoctoral fellow will also assist in preparing manuscripts, presentingfindings at scientific conferences, mentoring graduate students, andcontributing to the overall research objectives and reporting requirements oftheir research project.

The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal, dependingon funding availability.

Qualifications

A PhD in Mathematics or related field, with a strong record of research, isrequired. Selected candidate must have completed their PhD prior to appointmentstart date.

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries forthis position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief atthe time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end ofthe salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate mayvary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include thesuccessful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internalequity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonablydetermined by the University.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories,working with research subjects, or involving community contact requiresdocumentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola(Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation ofhaving received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This mayinclude documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicellavaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Bloodtests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in thepre-employment physical exam except for those candidates who provide results ofblood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in ourOccupational Health office.
