The Charles lab focuses on reducing the global burden of mucosal and enteric infections affecting resource-poor and marginalized populations. Research aims include understanding host-pathogen and immune responses during human infection by V. cholerae and Salmonella Typhi/Paratyphi A, identifying immunogenic antigens or molecular signatures for vaccine and diagnostic development, and developing rapid diagnostic and seroepidemiologic tools for use in resource-limited settings. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to research investigations, program administration, supervision, staff training, and grant writing.

Duties will be carried out in a typical lab environment. Occasional evening or weekend work and occasional travel to international research sites may be required. There is also the opportunity to travel to scientific meetings to present research. Location: 55 Fruit Street, onsite.
The candidate will provide daily supervision, guidance, and expertise for 2-3 Research Technician/Assistants or students.
