Job Description

Virginia Tech is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral associate in the phenomenology group with interests including but not limited to neutrinos, dark matter, model-building, and/or particle-astrophysics. The phenomenology group consists of two faculty, Patrick Huber and Ian Shoemaker, within the Center for Neutrino Physics that consists of more than a dozen faculty in both theory and experiment. The primary duties of the position will consist of research in theoretical high energy physics, writing peer-reviewed publications, and presenting research results to a wider research community both regionally and internationally.

Senior Research Associates will have additional responsibilities with mentoring the junior group members and potentially assisting the PIs with grant management.

Required Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics or another closely related field. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
2. Ability to work independently, while at the same time contributing constructively as part of a team.
3. Senior Research Associate applicants must have previous postdoctoral experience.
