Job summary
Calibr-Skaggs, a division of Scripps Research, seeks a Postdoctoral Associate in Cell Biology & Chemical Biology to join an early-stage discovery team in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on discovering and optimizing toxin-neutralizing antibodies and monobodies for human therapeutic use, with opportunities to lead projects and publish findings.
The candidate will work independently and collaboratively, applying expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and protein engineering within a culture
Qualifications
- Requires a PhD in biochemistry, chemical biology, or related area or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Strong track record of research productivity and independence.
- Collaborative mindset with ability to communicate across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot molecular biology and biochemistry experiments within discovery projects.
- Present results at project team meetings and to research leadership; maintain organized reports.
- Develop robust protein expression/purification workflows and characterize antibody/monobody therapeutics.
- Establish cell-based assays and measure biochemical activities and interactions.
- Collaborate across functional areas and contribute to drug discovery efforts.
