Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, Medical Informatics, Mathematics).
• Strong track record of quantitative analytics mastery and expertise in AI/ML, causal modeling, and knowledge graphs.
• Outstanding communication skills and track record of publications in top venues.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds AI-enabled interfaces and dashboards using Explainable AI approaches.
• Conducts user-centered design activities (interviews, workflow analysis, participatory design).
• Creates user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, dashboards, and AI interfaces.
• Finetunes and optimizes AI/ML models.
• Translates user needs into accessible software with technical teams.
• Evaluates usability, effectiveness, accessibility, trust, and satisfaction.
• Develops human-AI interaction approaches to improve transparency and adoption.
• Documents requirements, design specs, and evaluation findings.
• Mentors students and junior researchers in UX and usability methods.
• Prepares manuscripts, reports, presentations, and grant applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
