RFCUNY invites applications for a PostDoctoral Researcher at The CITY COLLEGE OF NEW YORK (CCNY). You will advance AI agent‑enabled reasoning and autonomous experiments in bio‑inspired materials, building closed‑loop discovery with robots and cloud orchestration.

You will design and validate autonomous robotic workflows, supervise researchers, and collaborate with national labs and industry partners to publish impactful results.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, ML, Robotics, or related field.
• Experience or strong interest in AI/ML for autonomous decision making (single-agent & multi-agent).
• Experience or interest in hardware development for autonomous lab systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to responsible research practices, reproducibility, and clear communication of autonomous behavior.

Responsabilités

• Research integration of AI-driven design with automated materials synthesis and characterization.
• Develop robust algorithms for controlling AI agents in autonomous labs.
• Create autonomous workflows coordinating robots and cloud infrastructure in high-throughput settings.
• Publish results in conferences and journals; collaborate with the PCL network.
• Mentor graduate students and undergraduates; collaborate with partners across labs and industry.
