Job summary

Penn State University’s Poudel Group seeks a highly qualified Postdoctoral Scholar to advance experimental research in electrochemical energy storage and Zn-ion batteries. The candidate will design and test electrode materials, fabricate cells, and analyze structure-property relationships to improve performance and durability.

The role requires a PhD in a related field and strong hands-on experience in electrochemistry, with a focus on Zn-based systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with strong hands-on electrochemistry experience.
• Experience with rechargeable batteries and electrode materials is required.
• Zn-ion or Zn-metal battery experience is desirable but not required.
• Ability to plan, execute experiments and analyze data independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct electrochemical experiments; fabricate electrodes and assemble lab-scale cells.
• Perform galvanostatic cycling, CV, LSV, chronoamperometry, EIS and related measurements.
• Correlate electrochemical behavior with electrode structure, composition, and morphology.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and communicate findings effectively.
