Job summary

Endeavor Health Research Institute, academically affiliated with the University of Chicago, seeks a self-motivated Post-Doc Research Fellow to join the Center for Psychiatric Genetics. The role reports to a PI/Supervisor who is a Professor at the University of Chicago.

The lab’s research focuses on iPSC-derived neurons and brain organoids to study neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. The position is NIH grant-funded, full-time and onsite in Evanston, IL, with compensation under NIH

Qualifications

• Education: PhD or MD required in a science field.
• Experience: Background in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Neuroscience, or functional Genomics preferred. Experience with neuroscience research, especially iPSC culture and organoid differentiation is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Take a lead in NIH funded projects.
• Work independently under supervision of the PI.
• Prepare scientific manuscripts for publication.
• Develop scientific proposals to apply for fellowships.
• Identify problems that may affect experiments and take corrective action.
• Comply with IRB regulations and local, state, and federal research regulations.
• Assist in submission of research applications, revisions, and progress reports.
