The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Medicine Department to study the role of the microbiota and bacterial extracellular vesicles in shaping anti-tumor immunity and cancer immunotherapy, with a focus on lung cancer.

The successful candidate will independently perform molecular, cellular, and in vivo experiments, analyze data, contribute to grant applications, and prepare manuscripts for publication in collaboration with the

Qualifications

• PhD (or MD/PhD) in a closely related biological science.
• Hands-on proficiency with DNA/RNA/protein extraction, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, cloning.
• Cell culture of mammalian cells and CRISPR-based genome editing.
• In vivo rodent tumor models and IACUC protocol experience.
• Ability to design controlled experiments and analyze data with statistics.

Responsibilities

• Designs and executes in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experiments on microbiota and bEVs in cancer immunity.
• Performs molecular and cellular assays and analyzes data; maintains rigorous records.
• Contributes to extramural grant applications with preliminary data and figures.
• Prepares first-author manuscripts and presents data at meetings and conferences.
• Maintains laboratory documentation and assists in training staff.
