Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to study quantitation and characterization of mucin macromolecules in health and disease within the Marsico Lung Institute. The lab focuses on mucus biology using biochemical, biophysical and proteomics approaches.

The candidate will employ light scattering and mass spectrometry-based quantitation, develop new skills, and work in a highly equipped mucin biochemistry and biophysics setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a biological science, or related discipline.
• Experience in biochemistry and quantitation of macromolecules.
• Experience with internal and external quality control and validation of measurements.

Responsibilities

• Quantitate and characterize mucin macromolecules using biochemical, biophysical and proteomics methods.
• Apply light scattering and mass spectrometry-based quantitation.
• Collaborate with the PI and multidisciplinary research teams.
