Job summary

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Hamed Jafar-Nejad, M.D., in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine.

The laboratory uses cell culture, Drosophila and mouse genetics to identify and characterize genetic modifiers of human developmental disorders, in hopes of shedding light on disease pathophysiology and establishing new therapeutic strategies.

Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and conducts experiments on Alagille syndrome and reports results to the PI.
  • Summarizes research findings.
  • Performs statistical analyses; may set up new techniques and disease models.
  • Communicates results with collaborators via email and virtual presentations.
  • Participates in preparing grant applications.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
