Job summary

Genentech seeks an independent postdoctoral researcher to join Aviv Regev’s lab, developing edge algorithms for single-cell genomics, spatial data, and perturbation screens with high-content data to study cellular programs in health and disease.

You will work on independent projects within a collaborative group, leveraging collaborations across Research & Development to tackle challenging biology and medical problems.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar field.
• Demonstrated record of innovative scientific accomplishments with at least one first-author or co-first author paper in a top journal or a key conference (e.g. in computer science).
• Technically rigorous, bold and creative.
• Excited about biology and human disease, and developing and applying new computational algorithms to decipher it.
• Able to present complex results clearly to experts from multiple fields.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced algorithms to analyze single-cell genomics, spatial data, and perturbation screens with high-content data.
• Work on independent research projects with collaborations within the group and across Genentech R&D.
• Present and discuss results with computer scientists, computational biologists, biologists, and clinicians.
