Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow in Bacterial Sulfur Metabolism to join the Giedroc Lab on the Bloomington campus. The role focuses on microbiological, biochemical and structural studies of proteins involved in sulfur metabolism and H2S/RSS homeostasis in strict anaerobes.

The successful candidate will lead experiments, design projects with Prof. Giedroc, and co-author manuscripts while engaging with collaborators at Vanderbilt. NIH funding supports up to three years.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in microbiology, biochemistry, chemical biology or a related discipline.
• Experience with modern microbiological methods and protein purification.
• Excellent communication skills and outcome orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design and execution for studies on bacterial sulfur metabolism.
• Collaborate with staff and publish co-authored manuscripts.
• Present results at a scientific conference annually.
