Job summary

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Capone Lab in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington. The fellow will join a multidisciplinary team conducting a five-year CDC-funded study on surveillance for soil-transmitted helminth infections in the southeastern United States.

The role involves lab work in Bloomington, field sampling, data analysis, manuscript authorship, and mentoring students.

Qualifications

• PhD in environmental health, environmental engineering, environmental science, microbiology, or related field by appointment.
• Experience with project management and field sampling.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience mentoring undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students.

Responsibilities

• Lead studies and coordinate laboratory activities within the Capone Lab.
• Analyze environmental and epidemiologic data and develop study proposals.
• Prepare manuscripts and present findings at meetings.
• Mentor students and coordinate training within the team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers and travel to study sites as needed.
