Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist – AI/ML to join the Data, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DDSAI) organization for a two-year fixed-term position.

You will advance AI/ML approaches for drug discovery, focusing on foundation and generative models and biological sequences, with lab-in-the-loop workflows that integrate AI-guided design and experimental validation.

Qualifications

• PhD completed within the last 3 years or to be completed within the next 6 months.
• Strong AI/ML expertise with publications in leading AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; solid DL background.
• Experience with foundation models and/or generative models for biological sequences is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, develop, and validate AI/ML approaches for drug discovery and design.
• Design and implement foundation and deep generative models for biological sequences.
• Establish lab-in-the-loop workflows integrating AI-guided design with wet-lab validation.
• Analyze large-scale biological data to generate insights and hypotheses.
• Collaborate across computational biology, ML, and experimental sciences to translate advances into applications.
• Communicate complex methodologies to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation and up-to-date code repositories.
• Draft manuscripts and disseminate findings in top ML conferences.
