Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist – AI/ML to join the Data, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DDSAI) organization for a two-year fixed-term position. In this role, you will advance AI/ML approaches, biological sequence modeling, and generative AI technologies to address challenges in drug discovery and therapeutic design.

This position can be based in Beerse, Belgium; Madrid, Spain; Cambridge, MA; Spring House, PA.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field with strong AI/ML background.
• Publication record in leading AI/ML conferences/journals.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; experience with foundation or generative models.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, develop, and validate innovative AI/ML approaches for drug discovery and design.
• Design and implement foundation models and deep generative models for biological sequences and modalities.
• Establish lab-in-the-loop workflows integrating AI-guided design with wet-lab experimentation.
• Analyze large-scale biological data to generate novel scientific insights and hypotheses.
• Collaborate with computational biology, ML, and experimental teams to translate advances into applications.
• Communicate complex methodologies and findings to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
