Job summary

RFCUNY's AI-Enabled Bio-Inspired Materials discovery Ecosystem (AI-BIOME) at CCNY invites applications for Postdoctoral Researchers. This NSF-funded program creates a programmable cloud laboratory for bio-inspired materials design and autonomous experimentation.

You will collaborate with a leadership team to develop AI agents, robotic platforms, and cloud workflows, and you will contribute to research publications while mentoring students and partners across national labs and industry.

Qualifications

• This PhD-level role requires strong background in AI/ML methods for autonomous decision making.
• Experience with autonomous experimentation, robotic platforms, and cloud orchestration is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Research integration of AI-driven experimental design with automated materials synthesis and characterization.
• Develop robust algorithms to control AI agents and enable autonomous laboratory workflows.
• Develop new robotic workflows and validate autonomous laboratory protocols.
• Publish results in conferences/journals and collaborate with partner institutions.
