Job description

We are looking for a Post-Production Manager who can own the final creative quality of premium long-form YouTube videos for top creators and brands.

This role is for someone with strong YouTube judgment, excellent creative taste, and the ability to review an edit and make it significantly stronger before it reaches the client or goes live. You should understand what makes a long-form YouTube video work: the hook, pacing, story clarity, retention, branding, sound design, visual quality, and overall viewer experience.

We are not looking for someone who only manages timelines, tasks, or file movement. We are looking for someone who can review videos through a performance lens, give clear feedback to editors, and help raise the creative quality bar across post-production.

The ideal candidate can watch a rough cut, revised cut, or final cut and clearly explain:

  • What is working
  • What feels weak
  • Where viewers may drop off
  • What needs to change
  • Why it matters
  • How the editor should improve it
About the Role

As Post-Production Manager, you will own the creative quality of videos during the edit and review stage.

You will review rough cuts, revised cuts, and final cuts, then give clear, specific, and actionable feedback to editors. Your job is to make sure every video is clear, engaging, on-brand, retention-focused, and ready for client review or upload.

This role is not only about project tracking. It is about creative judgment, edit quality, YouTube performance, and final video improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Review all videos versions to make sure each video meets a high creative standard.
  • Assess videos based on hook strength, pacing, retention, story clarity, branding, viewer experience, and overall polish.
  • Review videos through a YouTube performance lens.
  • Identify sections where the video feels slow, unclear, repetitive, off-brand, weak, or unlikely to keep viewers watching.
  • Give clear, specific, timestamped, and actionable creative feedback to editors.
  • Explain what needs to change, why it matters, and how the editor should improve it.
  • Review B-roll, archival footage, graphics, motion design, music, sound design, text, and visual references.
  • Make sure every creative element supports the story and viewer experience.
  • Protect the creator’s voice, brand identity, and audience expectations.
  • Help define and raise the creative quality bar across the post-production team.
  • Make sure videos feel premium, YouTube-native, and built for retention.
  • Work closely with Creative Directors, editors, producers, and leadership.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in YouTube, digital video, creative direction, editorial review, or post-production quality control.
  • Proven experience reviewing videos for an established creator, brand, agency, or YouTube channel.
  • Ability to point to specific channels, videos, brands, or projects you helped improve.
  • Strong understanding of what makes YouTube videos perform: retention, pacing, hooks, storytelling, branding, viewer engagement, and audience payoff.
  • Ability to review an edit and diagnose exactly what is not working.
  • Ability to give clear feedback that improves the final video.
  • Strong editorial taste and creative judgment.
  • Understanding of post-production workflows, Premiere Pro, After Effects, motion graphics, sound design, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to maintain a high-quality standard under fast deadlines.
Nice to Have
  • Experience mentoring, reviewing, or improving editors.
  • Experience with YouTube analytics, retention curves, CTR, watch time, or performance data.
  • Experience with documentary, explainer, educational, or premium talking-head content.
  • Experience using Frame.io, ClickUp, Notion, Slack, Google Drive, or similar tools.
This Role Is Not For
  • Someone who only wants to manage schedules, timelines, and project logistics.
  • Someone who only wants to move files through a workflow without owning quality.
  • Someone who only focuses on aesthetics without thinking about retention, pacing, clarity, story, and viewer engagement.
  • Someone who cannot give direct, useful, and actionable feedback to editors.
  • Someone who wants to personally edit every detail instead of reviewing and directing post-production quality.
  • Someone without strong long-form YouTube or digital video judgment.
Compensation Range

$85,000-$135,000/year

*Compensation will depend on experience, location, and fit.

  • Work in your own time zone
  • Work from anywhere! We're a 100% remote team.
  • A quarterly wellness reimbursement
  • 20 days of paid time off annually.
  • 12 additional holidays per year.
  • Unlimited sick and bereavement leave.
  • Working for a company that is values-oriented and committed to positive social impact.
  • Unlimited reimbursement on book purchases for self-education.
  • Gifts/cash bonuses on birthdays, work anniversaries, and other work-related achievements.
  • Working directly with some of the largest creators and brands on the planet.
