University of Minnesota seeks a highly motivated Post‑Doctoral Associate to study neurodegenerative disease mechanisms using patient‑derived iPSCs in a cutting‑edge neuroscience/stem cell lab. The candidate should have a PhD and hands-on experience in cell culture and animal models.
You will work on CRISPR editing, gene expression analyses, proteomics, and advanced imaging, contributing to target discovery and understanding pathophysiology within a collaborative environment.
We are seeking a highly motivated recent or pending MD and/or PhD graduate to work in a molecular and cellular neuroscience/stem cell lab for disease modeling using patient‑derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). The ideal candidate will have experience in cell culture, rodent models, biochemical, molecular and cellular biological techniques in neuroscience or stem cell biology.
In‑person, 5 days a week, and 40 hours a week.
As a Post‑Doctoral Associate, you will work in a molecular and cellular neuroscience/stem cell lab for disease modeling using patient‑derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). Our research focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases and identifying novel therapeutic targets, particularly around protein misfolding, extracellular vesicles, and disease propagation.
You will apply a multi‑pronged approach that includes biochemistry, CRISPR genetic editing, gene expression analysis, mouse genetics, proteomics, and advanced imaging. The University of Minnesota provides an excellent environment for stem cell and neurodegeneration research, hosting the University Stem Cell Institute and the N. Bud Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care.
