Job description

The Ainslie Lab (https://ainslielab.web.unc.edu/) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has two postdoctoral researcher openings. We are seeking motivated scientists — including engineers, chemists, biochemists, and immunologists — to contribute to exciting interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of immunology and drug delivery. Projects are supported by two NIH-funded grants:
1. Development of biomaterials to modulate CAR-T/NKT cells for glioblastoma therapy and immune mechanistic evaluation of epitope spreading.
2. Evaluation of mechanistic tolerogenic pathways invoked by biomaterials for generation of an inverse vaccine to treat multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases.

We investigate these applications both in vitro and in vivo. Candidates with a background in one or more of the following techniques are encouraged to apply: flow cytometry, animal models, mammalian cell culture, ELISA, immune-cell isolation and culture, vaccines, drug delivery systems, immunological assays, and in vivo evaluation of therapeutic or vaccine candidates. Experience with flow cytometry and animal studies is particularly desirable.

Application deadline: Oct. 30, 2026
