Job summary

University at Buffalo is seeking a Finance Manager within Sponsored Projects Services to oversee post-award financial activity for a diverse portfolio. You will work with Principal Investigators to plan budgets, reconcile finances, and manage salary changes and appointments, ensuring compliance with sponsors and university policies.

You will act as the primary contact for PI post-award needs, coordinating with post-award colleagues to ensure accurate, timely processing and reporting across UB’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with 5 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Strong financial analysis and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to interact with diverse constituents in a professional manner.
• Knowledge and understanding of Excel and database/electronic reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Award planning and kick-off meetings for all related parties.
• Formulate financial projections and revise award budgets as needed.
• Analyze expenses and spending to maximize funds and compliance.
• Assist with sponsor reporting guidelines and content requirements.
• Create internal financial reports and review portfolios with faculty.
• Review reporting processes to improve efficiency and communication.
• Serve as liaison between PIs and UB administrative units.
