Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area.
• All experience must be paid work experience in the related field.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and completes precertification and authorization requests for post-acute care services.
• Communicates with payers, post-acute facilities, and internal teams to coordinate discharge.
• Assists case managers and social workers in transitions to lower levels of care with accurate documentation.
• Tracks and updates patient authorization status in the EHR to support timely discharge.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and communicates findings to team members.
• Maintains organized records of authorizations and approvals for compliance.
• Responds to inquiries from patients and care teams regarding post-acute placement and processes.
• Escalates delays, denials, or complex cases to supervisory staff per protocol.
• Adheres to confidentiality, quality, and compliance standards.
