Job summary

The Posse Foundation in Miami is seeking a dedicated Posse Trainer to recruit, train, and support Posse Scholars through high school to college graduation.

You will lead outreach to schools and community organizations, interview candidates, guide applications, run weekly Pre-Collegiate Training workshops, travel to partner universities quarterly, track scholar progress, and collaborate with mentors and co-trainers to ensure student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience working with youth and facilitating sessions.
• Experience one-on-one with high school and college students.
• Strong writing, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to relate to diverse high-school and college-aged participants.
• Willing and able to travel throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and support Posse Scholars from recruitment through college graduation.
• Lead outreach to high schools and community-based organizations.
• Interview candidates and guide them through the college application process.
• Facilitate weekly Pre-Collegiate Training workshops focusing on leadership, cross-cultural communication, team-building, and academic excellence.
• Travel to partner universities four times a year to meet Posse Scholars personally.
• Track scholars' academic progress and develop strategies to address retention issues.
• Collaborate with Posse mentors and co-trainers; report to the site program director.
