Job summary

The Posse Foundation Inc is seeking a dedicated trainer to recruit, train, and support Posse Scholars. You will assist with outreach to high schools and community-based organizations, interview candidates, and guide them through the college application process from junior year to college graduation.

In Pre-Collegiate Training, you will facilitate weekly workshops on leadership, cross-cultural communication, team-building, and academic excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Experience working with youth; facilitation experience; counseling experience; and two years previous work experience desired.
  • Experience working one-on-one with high school and college aged students.
  • Excellent demonstrated skills in writing, communication, presentation and time management.
  • Ability to organize, manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be enthusiastic, possess a strong work ethic, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and serve as a positive role model for Posse Scholars and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and support Posse Scholars.
  • Assist with outreach to high schools and community-based organizations.
  • Interview candidates and guide them through the college application process.
  • Work with Scholars beginning in senior year of high school and continuing to graduation.
  • Facilitate weekly workshops for Posse Scholars focusing on leadership and academic excellence.
  • Travel to partner universities four times a year to meet Scholars and mentors.
  • Track Scholars' academic progress and develop strategies for retention.
  • Collaborate with Posse mentors to ensure on-campus support.
  • Report to the program director of the site and work with co-trainers.
