Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Part-Time Overnight Positive Support Specialist in Bemidji, MN to support individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs within Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS). The role emphasizes person-centered care, safety, routine, and community engagement.

Responsibilities include promoting independence in daily living skills, advocating for rights and medical care, maintaining documentation, and safely handling crisis situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred.
• Must pass Bureau of Criminal Affairs background check and have a valid driver’s license; MVR required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in daily living skills such as meal preparation, hygiene, and community navigation.
• Advocate for individuals in areas like rights, medical care, and community participation.
• Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping each shift.
• Safely manage crisis situations and follow Positive Behavioral Supports; training provided.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
