Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Cashier/Checker to greet and assist customers, process transactions accurately, and uphold store policies. You will be responsible for operating the POS system and handling various tender types in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining accuracy, following safety guidelines, staying updated on promotions, and delivering excellent customer service while adhering to company standards and integrity.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience.

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create a welcoming environment.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or issues to management.
• Inspect equipment and request repairs when needed.
• Answer questions to help customers across the store.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist through interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
