Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a cashier/checker to deliver friendly customer service at the checkout and help customers navigate pricing, promotions and payment options. The role requires strong communication, math skills, and the ability to process transactions accurately in a busy store environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating the POS system, handling multiple tender types, adhering to loss-prevention guidelines and following all safety and store policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, and coupons according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal ads and promotions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and food handling regulations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; assist with preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions for customers.
