Job summary

Panthalassa is seeking Summer 2027 Engineering Interns in Portland, OR to tackle real technical problems tied to our Node technology. Positions span mechanical, manufacturing, and software engineering, with projects tailored to background and team needs.

You will learn rapidly, document work, communicate openly, and take meaningful ownership of your project in a collaborative, scrappy environment. Internship runs mid-June to early September 2027 on-site.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering, CS, physics, or related field.
• Strong technical fundamentals relevant to your area of study.
• Hands-on experience via coursework, internships, or projects.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Portland, Oregon for the internship duration.
• Authorization to work in the United States for the full duration.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute a clearly defined technical project supporting Node technology.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to solve technical problems.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, or improve physical or software systems.
• Analyze data and use results to inform engineering decisions.
• Create clear technical documentation and process records.
• Participate in technical reviews and communicate findings clearly.
• Take ownership of assigned work and report progress.
• Incorporate feedback as project priorities evolve.
