Job summary

Giga Energy Inc. is seeking a Head of Data Center Commissioning to own the company-wide commissioning strategy across our AI data center portfolio.

You will build the commissioning function, set standards, staff the team, and drive execution from construction to live operation with executive visibility. You will lead Cx Leads and Managers across multiple concurrent projects, owning scheduling, resourcing, and vendor strategy while reporting progress and risk to ownership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commissioning experience with leadership in multi-project environments.
• Experience with mission-critical data centers or large-scale facilities at program level.
• Proven ability to scale a commissioning function from the ground up.
• Deep knowledge of MEP and electrical systems to set standards and resolve disputes.
• Experience managing budgets and vendor/subcontractor relationships across multiple projects.
• Strong experience presenting to executives on risk and status.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and control sequences.

Responsibilities

• Build and own Giga's commissioning program — standards, procedures, templates, and quality bar — applied consistently across all active projects
• Lead and develop a team of Cx Leads and Managers, assigning coverage across the portfolio and stepping in directly on the highest-risk or highest-complexity projects
• Own the commissioning schedule and resourcing strategy across multiple simultaneous data center builds, coordinating with construction and project leadership to protect turnover milestones
• Serve as the primary point of accountability to ownership and executive stakeholders for commissioning status, risk, and readiness across the portfolio
• Set and enforce standards for commissioning plans, FPTs, and IST procedures in alignment with OPR and BOD across all projects, ensuring consistency regardless of which team executes them
• Own vendor and Cx subcontractor strategy — selection, contracting, and performance management — across the portfolio rather than project by project
• Establish and maintain the deficiency tracking and Cx record-keeping standard used across all sites, ensuring a clean, auditable handoff package on every project
• Report on commissioning progress, risk, and budget to executive leadership, translating field-level issues into program-level decisions
• Own the commissioning budget across active projects and make trade-off calls on resourcing, tooling, and staffing
