Job summary

Solen Software Group is seeking a Portfolio Leader to own the performance of a cluster of Solen's portfolio companies. You will sit above General Managers, setting targets, allocating capital, and developing the next generation of leaders across multiple P&Ls. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility operator role with board-level impact.

You’ll partner with an Operating Partner, drive M&A diligence, and ensure disciplined reporting, forecasting, and capital allocation across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven track record running a P&L at the GM/CEO level.
• Comfort setting and defending financial targets across multiple businesses: GRR, NRR, Rule of 40, BHS.
• Sharp instinct for capital allocation across a portfolio.
• Experience coaching other operators and building bench strength.
• Exposure to M&A diligence, integration, or sourcing.
• Ability to operate in a lean, fast-moving environment with decisive action.
• Ability to translate performance trade-offs into clear narratives for GMs and leadership.
• Familiarity with SaaS business models and key metrics (ARR, NRR, LTV/CAC, Rule of 40).

Responsibilities

• Own results and KPIs across a cluster of portfolio companies, including GRR, NRR, Rule of 40, and BHS.
• Set and defend performance targets for each company in the cluster.
• Allocate attention, resources, and capital across companies to maximize value.
• Handle cross-company capital allocation and ROI trade-offs.
• Monitor performance against strategic and financial targets, identify risks and opportunities early.
• Manage and develop the General Managers running each company in the cluster.
• Build bench strength and talent density across the cluster of leaders.
• Model Solen's culture and leadership standards for the operators you support.
• Own hiring, performance management, and succession planning at the GM level within your cluster.
• Serve as the business-side guide for integrating new companies into your portfolio cluster.
• Participate in M&A diligence and sourcing for acquisitions that fit your portfolio.
• Support 100-day planning and early integration for newly acquired companies joining the cluster.
• Partner with your Operating Partner to determine investment, capital returns, and risk balance across the cluster.
• Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis for cluster decisions.
• Challenge OpCo numbers and understand levers behind each plan.
• Ensure each company maintains strong operating discipline and accurate reporting.
• Represent cluster performance to Operating Partner, investors, and leadership.
