Job summary

Mark-Taylor in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a Portfolio Accountant to support financial operations across our apartment communities, delivering GAAP-compliant reporting and accurate cash flow analysis. You will prepare monthly financials, reconcile balance sheets, oversee cash management, and review GL/AP coding, coordinating with on-site teams to ensure timely month-end closes.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Accounting/Finance, 2+ years in property management accounting, strong Excel, and

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Preferably 2 years of property management experience using GAAP to report financials.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Reconcile Balance Sheets.
• Oversee cash management and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Perform cash flow analysis and client distributions.
• Handle draw preparation and review budgets for lease-up properties.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
• Audit property transactions actual to budget with on-site teams for month-end close.
• Review General Ledger and Accounts Payable coding for each community.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

• B.S. In Accounting/Finance or equivalent.


• Preferably 2 years of property management experience working with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to report financial information.


• Strong Excel skills.


• Excellent communications skills both verbal and in writing.


• Resman, RealPage, MRI, YARDI or other property management software proficiency is highly desirable

In This Role You Will
