Job summary

The Stellar Family is seeking a Porter to maintain the cleanliness and appeal of our residential properties in the United States. You will be an active, hands-on contributor, ensuring safe, welcoming environments for residents and visitors from day one.

You will handle custodial tasks, basic maintenance, event setup, and vacancy readiness with pride and teamwork. A strong work ethic and ability to follow safety protocols are essential to succeed here.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, janitorial, or groundskeeping preferred.
• Pride in work and attention to cleanliness.
• Physical stamina for active, outdoors work and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Team-first mindset and strong communication.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Keep common areas spotless including lobbies, hallways, clubhouses, fitness centers, restrooms, laundry rooms, and leasing offices.
• Maintain grounds and parking areas to be clean and attractively landscaped.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as bulb replacements, paint touch-ups, and flag issues early.
• Assist maintenance team with work orders and emergencies as needed.
• Set up and clean up for resident events and property functions.
• Prep vacant units so new residents move in to a welcoming space.
• Monitor and restock supplies to keep operations running smoothly.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy according to standards and deadlines.
• Complete make-ready checklists accurately and thoroughly.
• Remove trash and debris from apartments and surrounding areas.
• Perform light carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, and touch-ups.
• Repair damaged fixtures, blinds, doors, hardware, and flooring as needed.
• Ensure appliances are clean, functional, and in good condition.

What You'll Do

You’ll be the heartbeat of the property's appearance, ensuring that residents and visitors always experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your day-to-day will include:

• Keeping all common areas spotless - lobbies, hallways, clubhouses, fitness centers, restrooms, laundry rooms, and leasing offices
• Maintaining beautiful, litter-free grounds including parking lots, sidewalks, and landscaping
• Performing light maintenance tasks like bulb replacements, paint touch-ups, and flagging issues before they become problems
• Supporting the maintenance team with work orders and emergency needs
• Setting up and cleaning up for resident events and property functions
• Helping prepare vacant units so new residents walk into something they love from day one
• Monitoring and restocking supplies to keep everything running smoothly
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy in accordance with company standards and move-in deadlines.
• Complete make-ready checklists thoroughly and accurately.
• Remove trash and debris from apartments and surrounding areas.
• Perform light carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, and touch-up work.
• Replace or repair damaged fixtures, blinds, doors, hardware, and flooring as needed.
• Ensure all appliances are clean, operational, and in good condition.

What You Bring

• Experience in custodial, janitorial, or groundskeeping work (preferred, but your attitude matters most)
• Pride in your work and a sharp eye for cleanliness and detail
• Physical stamina - this is an active, hands-on role with lifting up to 50 lbs, outdoor work in various conditions, and plenty of movement throughout the day
• A team-first mindset and great communication skills
• Comfort following safety protocols and instructions
• Valid driver's license (may be required based on property needs)
