BronxWorks seeks a hands-on building maintenance worker to assist the superintendent with repairs and upkeep at our Westchester Avenue Safe Haven (WASH) facility. Responsibilities include light electrical work, painting, plumbing, carpentry, floor care, and general unit clean-up to maintain a safe, clean environment.
Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of maintenance experience, strong English, and a willingness to travel within NYC boroughs.

The Westchester Avenue Safe Haven (WASH) is a 63-bed, low-barrier shelter operated by BronxWorks for chronically street-homeless adults aged 50 and older. Rooted in the Housing First model, WASH provides comprehensive on-site services including case management, psychiatric and medical care, substance use support, meals, and assistance with housing placement. Referrals are made through NYC’s Street Homeless Outreach Teams, with the primary goal of transitioning clients into permanent housing.
