Job description

Under general supervision, keep RTD facilities interiors and exteriors clean and orderly; perform custodial and minor building maintenance duties as assigned. Shift may change per Collective Bargaining Agreement requirements.

The following duties describe the general nature and level of work performed by personnel in this classification. They are not exhaustive of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

The incumbent must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

1. Clean interior of buildings.
2. Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors (concrete, linoleum, tile, wood).
3. Vacuum rugs and carpets in various areas.
4. Clean and dust walls, furniture, and woodwork (not electronic equipment).
5. Disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies.
6. Clean windows, door glass, and drinking fountains.
7. Polish metal work such as door panels and handrails.
8. Maintain custodial closets and storage areas.
9. Perform minor building maintenance tasks (moving furniture, replacing lights/filters, assembling furniture, minor repairs).
10. Secure premises (turn out lights, lock doors, secure windows).
11. Clean exterior of buildings.
12. Maintain cleanliness of passenger areas and amenities.
13. Keep drive aisles, walkways, and bus stops free of trash, weeds, and graffiti (excluding tree trimming).
14. Maintain cleanliness of facilities and bus stop amenities.
15. Pick up refuse on grounds.
16. Empty and clean waste and recycling containers.
17. Use various tools (blowers, weed eaters, scrubbers, pressure washers) to perform duties.
18. Maintain equipment used in work.
19. Report safety, sanitary, fire hazards, and repairs needed.
20. Perform related duties as required.

Knowledge of:

Education, Training, and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. At least six months of custodial experience. Knowledge of custodial procedures. Minimum age 21.

Licenses and Requirements:

Valid California Class C Driver License. Experience in public transit or government setting preferred.

Work Environment:

Physical and mental demands include frequent use of hands, reaching, bending, lifting, and working near moving parts and chemicals. Noise level is moderately noisy. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
